Have you ever been to a position where someone asks you for a favour and you’re not too sure if you can do it but still ending up saying, “YES” I’ll do it. Then in the process, you realise that it was a mistake?
Whether it’s excitement, pride, leadership pressure or you simply want to please everyone, these are just a few factors why most of us just can’t say NO!
It’s always a good little reminder to remember that sometimes, saying NO does not make you a bad person, inefficient or under-qualified but reminds us that our TIME is precious and we need to manage it wisely.
If you think that you are working too hard or are too busy but feel like you’re not achieving as much as you want or you’ve got too much on your plate. We need to remember to be realistic and accept that we need to let go of other peoples expectation on us and sacrifice some of our ‘To do List’ in order to focus more on the things that really matter to us.
One thing that I learnt recently that for everything that is going on my To Do List I also need to add something to my ‘To Stop Doing List’ as well to help remind me to not continue adding tasks that I don’t have time for.
